McCord Airforce Base Air Expo for Special Needs Children July 18, 2008

Andrew recieved a special invitation to attend an early presentation of the Air Expo on Friday as The McCord Airforce reserves this day to celebrate with Special Needs Children. (as the regular Air Expo was held throughout the weekend). We were able to bring along any family members that we could fit into one car so we headed out with the five of us along with Grandpa Pete and Grandma Dottie!

Here is Andrew wating for the show to begin!!

They had a really neat set up there.. They had four bleechers set up along with some chairs along the base for people who could not access the bleechers. They also had set up a free snack table and had free camo face painting.

The Main Act of the Air Expo was the Thunderbirds it is the United States Airforce elite flying team just like that of the Blue Angels. Here are a few clips from their awesome flying routines!

During the show, Andrew was able to meet a new friend Tyler!

After the Thunderbirds performance all of the pilots and staff came out and mingled with the families and we were able to meet a few of them.. here are the cute pictures...

All and All.. We had a FABULOUS time! I would highly recommend this airshow if it comes back next year! It was definately a summer highlight for us!
(On a sidenote.. Sunny, being back on McCord by the airfield brought back many great memories of us hanging out watching the planes and whatnot.. Those were good times!)
